With the exception of the 6 months during which I dyed my hair coal black (I call this period my great blackness! – it was 12 years ago) I’ve never dyed my hair in full.
I always wore my natural colour, a rather dark brown.
I am a conservative person, rather classic and – let’s say it! – reluctant to consider drastic changes.
So I chose Schwarzkopf Color Ultîme in the shade 6.1 (Smoky Brown) just to warm up my natural brown.
So here are the steps of my at-home colour experience (I can’t believe how easy it was)!
The box contains everything you need: protective gloves, simple instructions, colour cream, developer and applicator bottle, and a rich conditioner for added shine and softness.
Wearing the gloves, I put the colour in the applicator bottle that already contained the developer.
I mixed the two together by shaking the bottle.
I applied the dye all over, without following any particular technique. The important thing is to gently massage it in thoroughly to help evenly distribute the colour. If you have thick or long hair, don’t hesitate to use two boxes to get full coverage!
I waited 30 minutes before rinsing. Surprisingly, I did not feel any tingling or burning and I could hardly smell the formula.
I chose this particular hue to see a change, but I wanted it to be subtle enough that it doesn’t pose any issues for my filming in progress. It was a success! My new colour is warmer, it makes my eyes stand out more and it’s an exact match to my eyebrows! The result is therefore very natural. You can see my new warmer tones in the photo, but I just wish you could feel how soft my hair is!!!
